It’s not often I get starstruck, but that was the case on this project. Not only did I work with Count Chocula, but I also got to work with Frankenberry, Boo Berry, Fruit Brute, Yummy Mummy, Lucky, and the Trix Rabbit. With so much talent on a single shoot a guy can get intimidated, so to put everyone on an even playing field I ran a bunch of improv games before the shoot and gave really harsh notes. It put the entire group of cereal characters deeply in their heads, forcing them to question why they had gotten into performance in the first place. Pulling them down helped pull me up, and I had the confidence I needed to direct them. The result speaks for itself.
